Mindful Emotion Coaching and Adverse Childhood Experience
In 2020-21 EHCAP will be rolling out Mindful Emotion Coaching and Adverse Childhood Experience (MACE) training across Somerset with Public Health (Somerset County Council) funding. The training is primarily aimed at SENCos and SEMH professionals working in school settings but our approach is just as relevant for health and care colleagues so please register interest whatever your training and experience - just let me know your reasons for wanting to join us in the free text box!
Click this link to enter our interactive site. All the training video clips are available on the homepage and there are links to Alpiri elearning modules as well as to our most recent powerpoints. Once you have registered with this site you will be able to access more resources. Those of you who train in more depth in Emotion Coaching may opt to register with the EHCAP Learning Community and download our latest training powerpoints plus the facilitator training pack (2019).
You may find some of the discussions we run in workshops make you feel emotional esecially when looking at the Adverse Childhood Experience (ACEs) data in the Resilience documentary and when we run an exercise where you look at an ACE questionnaire. If you feel you would like to access emotional support one of the key organisations to approach in Somerset is Talking Therapies - this is a project funded through the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) national fund and access is free for all of us registered with an NHS GP. Somerset IAPT offer mindfulness sessions as a way of managing stress and EMDR as a treatment for post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
