Activities for Early Years

Written by Lucy who blogs at Mrs H’s favourite things

Dr Sarah Temple (a GP in Somerset) and Rebecca O’Mahony (27 years experience as a teacher in both Primary and Early Years settings in Somerset) have put together a wonderful list of Emotion Coaching resources for working with babies and young children age 0-5 years. It is often hard to know where to start when looking for resources that will help you. So, this interactive flyer has been designed to help you to develop your own Early Years activities. You can stream these activities for free by clicking on the links in this online flyer. To download the pdf version join the Alpiri Community at http://www.alpiri.co.uk/.

Our online interactive flyer includes some books and resources that you will need to purchase. For example, Dr Sarah Temple’s own book “All Emotions Are Okay” which will be available in May 2021; the ‘My First Emotions’ box produced by Skylark Learning and developed by Dr John Lambie; and the book ‘Mind Hug’ by Emily Arbor and Vanessa Lovegrove. It even includes a link to a video where I talk about how I used the ‘My First Emotions’ box with my baby and toddler.

Our  online flyer then goes on to include activities which can be done in your setting and will help you develop an Emotion Coaching style for the Early Years. These include how to use The Hand Model and CALM - an easy way to think about an emotional coaching relationship style.

This fabulous online flyer of resources can be found here.
